With many updates and changes we have finally arrived and are ready to host the 2010 Tour de Park City! This year we have made some improvements and are excited about what we have to offer both participants and spectators. Tour de Park City boasts to be one of the toughest and most beautiful one day races in America to which many past participants will attest.
One of the biggest changes we have made is splitting the Race and the Tour into separate dates. This will allow for a smoother event and hopefully add to the enjoyment of all those who participate. We are also pleased to announce we have partnered with City of Coalville, UT as our new start/finish venue for the Race at the City Park located at 100 south and Park Road. The Tour will start/finish at the Basin Recreational Area at Redstone in Park City, UT.
As we have prepared for this year’s event we have gone over the routes and maps carefully planning how to make them easier to follow as well as planning even better support and safety than in the past. All with as much detail as possible to ensure that your experience at this event is one that you will not soon forget due to the dedication of Mountain RaceWorks and our desire to be the best at what we do, in our support, safety and fun as event hosts.
As an additional focus this year we will be sending out information about the event to those on our e-mail list as well as updating Facebook and getting information out on our twitter feeds as we get into the thick of the riding/racing season. This would include information about road signs that will be posted on the course and the colors that will coordinate with them. These can be studied ahead of time so you can familiarize your self with what will be used to mark the course. As we continue to update and improve our maps we will be sending out information on areas of caution on the course as well as general information about what we are doing to ensure the success and safety of your riding experience. This has all come from the feedback received from you in years past and we look forward to your continued response as we strive to improve in years to come.
The Tour de Park City has gained the reputation of providing solid support/aid stations and we desire to keep this reputation up. This year we have put into place extra hydration stations to ensure ample water is available when and where it is needed. We want all of our participants to have the support they need to complete the course, to be safe, to abide by the rules of the road and to be courteous to the other riders.
The weather is getting warmer so no more excuses! Saddle up and start training, the race will be here before you know it!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
